I know I'm not entitled to it, but I'm sure we all want to know what people think.

Fine, let's just say that Man is his own character, and leave it at that.

Just a couple points for every Bambi fan to consider.[]

It's referenced on this article that 'Man' in Bambi may apply to all humans, not just one. So the hunter, who arrived at the meadow earlier in the film, may not have been the same one who shot Bambi's mom. It should be noted that towards the end of the film, Bambi and his dad spotted a distant campsite which means there are more than one 'Man' hunter encroaching their home. there is a Fan Theory that Gaston from Beauty and the Beast was the hunter who killed Bambi's mom.
