Sweetums is a fictional ogre created by the Jim Henson Company. Sweetums debuted in The Frog Prince as Taminella's henchman. He sings a song about himself as he tries to hurt Kermit and Robin with a club. He re-appeared in The Muppet Show and other Muppets media as a supporting character. Sweetums appeared in the Muppets Wizard of Oz as a member of the Flying Monkeys.
He was originally performed by the late Jerry Nelson and voiced by Carl Banas in The Frog Prince and was later portrayed by the late Richard Hunt from 1975 to 1992. After Hunt's health issues and later death in 1992, Sweetums was portrayed by the late John Henson from 1996 to 2005 and Victor Yerrid in 2006. Ever since 2009, he is currently portrayed by Matt Vogel.
