Professor Zündapp, better known as Professor Z, is the secondary antagonist of Cars 2. He was introduced as the film's main antagonist, but this was a misinformation campaign to hide the true main villain.
Description
Professor Zündapp is an internationally wanted weapons designer in a small, sophisticated German package. He is a brilliant, but mad, monocle-wearing scientist who is plotting to sabotage the World Grand Prix. Though his true motive is unclear, Zündapp is willing to do whatever it takes to eliminate all obstacles and keep the "project" on schedule. He is modeled as a Zündapp Janus 750.
Z's defeat
He eventually implanted a bomb on Mater as a backup plan, but he was then captured and arrested by Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell. He was ordered to deactivate the bomb, but he then revealed that this could only be done by the person who activated the bomb, who turns out to be Axlerod. Z is currently in prison.
