Nute Gunray is a supporting antagonist in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. He is one of the henchmen of the series' main antagonist, Darth Sidious. He also appears in a few episodes of the television show Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Personality[]

Nute Gunray was a greedy and cowardly individual. He cared only about himself and his business. He later became obsessed with seeking revenge on Padmé after being humiliated my her and as result viewing her as threat to him. Like all Neimoidians, Gunray came from culture that was entirely devoid morality. And where they were taught from birth that it was survival of the fittest.

Appearances[]

Star Wars Episode I: the Phantom Menace[]

Gunray is the main antagonist of Episode I. He makes a deal with Darth Sidious to form a blockade around the planet Naboo in response to the taxes placed on the Trade Federation. In the end, he is arrested for his villainous actions.

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones[]

In Episode II Nute joins the Separatist Alliance, in exchange for the execution of Padmé. After his arrest and humiliation on Naboo he grew obsessed with getting rid of her.

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith[]

In Episode III, near the end of the war, he is much more of a worried figure and wants to leave the Separatists. In the end Darth Sidious’ new apprentice, Darth Vader, is sent to due way with him and the rest of the alliance.
