Josef Pietz is the secondary antagonist of the 1964 live-action film A Tiger Walks.
Role in the film[]
When the circus arrives in town, Singh starts to worry about the cubs not being fed and Joe goes to drink at a bar, despite their boss' requests to look after the tigers. At the bar, Singh tries to warn Joe about tigers, but he refuses to listen to him. He becomes drunk and flirts with the bartender. Joe throws a glass at Singh and he is forced to pay for the damage.
When he comes back, he proceeds to torment Raja and taunts Julie. He foolishly leaves the cage door open and Raja escapes. The children scatter across the town and Julie gets her arm scrapped in the process. Singh tries to calm the tiger down, but Joe snatches Bill Watkins' rifle from him and chases after the tiger, despite his warnings that the gun isn't loaded and Singh heads after him.
Joe is eventually killed by Raja and his corpse is later found by the authorities.
