- Marina's Eels were represented from Flotsam and Jetsam in the first film and Cloak and Dagger, the two of Morgana's minion manta rays from the second film and sequel.
- Electric eels in real life are actually freshwater fish native to the Amazon River with nearly no fins. Their teeth are also inside the mouth, whereareas in the movie, they have exposed sharp teeth.
