Edgar is the overarching antagonist of the franchise, appearing in the prequel comic series, The Battle for Pumpkin King as the main antagonist. He is the current Pumpkin King of Halloween Town at the time of the series. He has a large, rotting jack-o-lantern for a head, that has mold and a round cut on the top. He sports a spider-and-cobweb ascot with a black tuxedo and pants. He carries around a wooden cane in his left hand.
He is the previous owner of Oogie Boogie's Lair and lives with underground creatures.
Personality[]
Edgar wants to make Halloween town a dark place, with more "trick than treat", and had been successful during his reign. He doesn't wish to step down from his rule, believing that he's not old enough for it. When he is forced to transfer his role as Pumpkin King, he still wishes to obtain control over the Town and plans to do it via Oogie Boogie, where he will call the shots and ensure Halloween Town is still under his dark guidance.
The Battle for Pumpkin King[]
Edgar is introduced early on in the comic, when he announces to the town that he has to officially step down from his role as Pumpkin King. He tells the Citizens that they have to nominate some candidates to be their new ruler, where they will compete via challenges for the Crown.
