“Why? Because we're Outbackers who dare to be on the mainland? We belong here as much as you do!” |
—Dorothy, The Dig's Up |
Dorothy is a female kangaroo and antagonist in The Stinky Cheese Caper and Other Cases from the ZPD Files.
Role in the Book[]
There's Dirt In Your Eye[]
Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are searching for the mammal that dumped a bag of dirt over a bridge and onto a boat full of tourists. While searching the bridge, they find a rhinestone and a few strands of fur. Nick also smells perfume on the bridge rail.
At a market, Officer Charles pulls up some security footage for Judy and Nick. The footage shows Dorothy buying some perfume. Charles then switches to the outdoor cameras, which reveal Dorothy getting into her car. Judy and Nick see the car's license plate number and enter it into the police database, revealing her address.
Upon arriving at Dorothy's home and questioning her about the dirt, Dorothy tells the officers that she is starting a garden, and that while she was crossing the bridge, she lost her balance and dropped the newly-bought bag, spilling the dirt. Unable to arrest her for an accident, Judy and Nick give her a warning.
The Dig's Up[]
Judy and Nick realize that Dorothy helped the criminal platypus Singcor Swim break out of prison. When they go to her house to question her again, they discover that the house is empty.
When they drive to the new, almost-completed bridge, they find Dorothy among the protestors who complain that this new bridge is not connected to, and instead goes right over Outback Island, and how the bridge should include the Outbackers. Dorothy riles up the crowd as they call the bridge "The Bridge to Everywhere Except Outback Island".
