Captain Armando Salazar is the titular main antagonist of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

History[]

He was once a captain of the Spanish Royal Navy, who dedicated his life to eliminating pirates worldwide and even became a legend, but then he met a young Jack Sparrow who led him into a cave at the Devil's Triangle, which destroyed his ship and cursed him and his crew while also transforming them into undead ghosts.

Now, he leads his crew to continue in his killing spree while also to get his revenge upon Sparrow for cursing him and his crew.

  • Captain Salazar is played by Javier Bardem, who is paired up with Penélope Cruz, who played Angelica from the previous Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
